Abstract Guidelines

On behalf of AATM 2019 we are pleased to invite submission of Abstracts from any discipline of “Transfusion Medicine” mentioned below, especially focusing on theme for this year’s conference: “THEME - The Future is Now, A Fascinating Era for Transfusion Medicine”.

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

  • Last date for Abstract submission is 10st Aug, 2019 at 23.59 hours (GMT8+). Late submission will not be accepted. You should only submit an abstract if you intend to attend the conference. Abstracts selected for oral or poster presentation will be removed from publication if the author does not register for the conference! Use the specified format/ template for Abstract submission.
  • All Abstract must be submitted through the ONLINE SUBMISSION on the conference website nctm.mohs.gov.mn  
  • If you have difficulty in uploading the files kindly write to conference secretariat at aatm2019@nctm.mohs.gov.mn with description or snapshot of the error.
  • Accepted Abstract will be presented at dedicated sessions for Oral Presentation at AATM Congress or will be given a chance for Poster Presentation as per the reviewers’ consensus decision.
  • Incomplete Abstracts will not be accepted. All Abstracts submitted must comply with the following guidelines to be considered for acceptance. Notification of acceptance or rejection of abstract will be by email only, through conference secretariat.
  • If you decide to withdraw a case after submission, please write to secretariat latest by 10th Aug’19

Once you have completed your registration and submitted the abstract you would not be allowed to amend it.

Abstract Structure and Content:

You should adopt the following structured format:

  1. Background including aims
  2. Methods
  3. Results
  4. Conclusions  
  • Presenting author’s contact details: full name, affiliation details: department, institution / hospital, city, state and country
  • Abstract title – limited to 25-50 words
  • Abstract text – maximum 500 words (excluding the Title, Author/s details.
  • Font type: Arial
  • Font size: 12
  • Information or concepts expressed must be novel. Abstract will be checked for plagiarism. Anyone found including in plagiarism shall be debarred from this and any future conference by AATM.
  • The scientific method must be sound or result or outcomes should be within the abstract. Plans for work without evidence or result do not usually constitute adequate abstract.
  • Avoid personal criticisms of individuals/institutions. Criticism should be restricted to the scientific content, on an evidence base
  • Graphics, figures and pictures are not allowed
  • Keywords are not allowed

 

  • Abstract can be submitted under the following headings:
    • Donation and Apheresis
    • Therapeutic Apheresis and Cellular Therapy
    • Component preparation
    • Infectious Disease Marker (IDM) testing including Nucleic-acid Amplification Technique (NAT) testing
    • Red Cell serology
    • Platelet or White Blood Cell (WBC) serology
    • Molecular and Transplant Immunology
    • Clinical Transfusion Practice including PBM (Patient Blood Management)
    • Quality Management
    • Automation
    • Management of blood transfusion services (BTS)
    • Haematology and Coagulation

Abstract Review, Selection and Publication

  • A panel of reviewers (subject experts) will review the abstracts. An abstract may be selected for an oral or poster presentation depending on reviewers’ consensus decision. The names and institutions’ name are removed before the review process.

Kindly do not call or try to influence the review process. This may debar you from this conference proceeding.

  • The first author will receive a confirmation of acceptance for oral presentation, poster presentation, or a notice of rejection, by e-mail by 25th July 2019. The presenting author may be different from the first author provided her/his name is in italics and underlined and clearly communicated by the first author in e-mail. Presenting author also has to register for the conference.
  • Oral presenters will be informed about the selection and the date and time of the session and presentation guidelines will be provided. Poster presenters will be informed about the date and time of the poster session.
  • It is very important for Poster authors or indicates if they are unable to attend the conference to prevent empty Poster panels!
